SBB Contribution: Beyond the Basic Visit and Pageview Reports of Web Analytics

Our first of many (hopefully!) contributions to the Scottish Business Blog is now live and hopefully worth a read to many small businesses in Scotland.
Web Analytics and Analysis go far beyond the basic metrics of daily visits and daily pageviews, which many still hold as key benchmarks. Our first contribution to the Scottish Business Blog is an attempt to help Scottish site owners and business owners start to think beyond that first level, challenging them to dig further into their data to find less obvious, but more beneficial, opportunities for improvement.
With an emphasis on ‘start to’, the contribution is not meant to be overly complex or technical. It’s simply to encourage thought about what else could, or should, be measured. Over time, we hope to provide a number of contributions on the topic of Web Analytics and Conversion Optimisation, ranging from the basic to the fairly complex.
