Tip 28 of 31: Use the research tools at your disposal to understand what customers will search for!
28th July 2020
We have so many more research tools at our disposal nowadays, compared to 20 years ago, meaning we’ve great access to insights when building our businesses. Graham Cook of RSVP Design joins us for tip 28 to offer advice on using those tools to better understand what customers might search for.
The first 5 guest tips were offered by providers of digital services, so we decided for our final interview to bring along someone from the other side of the fence. A business owner who has used digital extensively to build their business over a number of years.
Graham Cook and RSVP Design
RSVP Design sells physical training games and activities to organisations across the world. The training products are designed to improve the communication, leadership, teamwork and more across organisations, bringing people together and improving performance through experiential learning.
Digital Marketing, and the internet in general, has played a big part in the growth of RSVP Design, so we invited Graham along to discuss any learnings he could offer to those just starting out now.
“I think a lot of it is to do with actually using the tool of the internet that you have, being able to look at what people are actually searching for. When we started the business we sat down and thought ‘what could the name be’. Good branding techniques, what do we want the name to convey, what do we want the branding to deliver to people when they see it.
It was nearly 20 years ago, so it was more difficult. Whereas just now I would start to go into the internet and put some search terms in, see what people are actually looking for.”
